The Brick to Donate $25,000 to Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Assistance Program

By SJHL

EDMONTON, ALBERTA (June 14, 2018) – The Brick, in conjunction with The Brick’s Invitational Hockey Tournament, announced the donation of $25,000 to the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Assistance Program.

The entire country was overwhelmed with grief by the tragedy that occurred on April 6, 2018.  In the days that followed, we all experienced a need to react and provide assistance where needed.  As an organization, our hearts and thoughts went out to those left behind to grieve.  In the months and years to come there are many who will continue to grieve and will need ongoing support to overcome such a devastating loss.

The Brick has a long standing history with hockey, as its founder, Bill Comrie, himself a junior hockey alumnus, instilled the spirit of hockey in The Brick’s culture many years ago.  It is in that spirit that we are honoured to present the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Assistance Program with this donation to help provide support to the surviving team members, families and billets of the Humboldt Broncos who were so greatly impacted by this tragedy.
