TUESDAY RECAP – Bombers, Tritt steal the show in Weyburn

REGINA, SK – Reigning SaskTel SJHL Goaltender of the Year Charlie Tritt demonstrated his pedigree Tuesday in Game 3.

The Flin Flon star and LSSU NCAA DI commit stopped 38 shots as the Bombers edged the Weyburn Red Wings 2-1, and likewise took a 2-1 lead in their Round 2 series.

Bombers’ forward Connor Miller led the way offensively with a goal and an assist, and the game-winner, while rookie Aidan Mohan had the response for Weyburn.

Miller, the NCAA DI Augustana University commit, has three goals and five points in the last two games and goals in five of Flin Flon’s seven postseason contests thus far.

In Battlefords, Anthony Campbell notched the winner at the 6:49 mark of the third period to hand the North Stars a 3-2 Game 3 win, and a 2-1 series lead.

North Stars’ veteran Josh Knittig’s two helpers extended his point streak to eight games, posting 17 points over that span.

Campbell is also on an eight-game point streak, scoring 13 points in that time.

Kaeden Serpa made 29 saves in the victory, while Callum Creig stopped 28 shots in defeat.

Thomas Ries answered with a pair of goals for Yorkton, his first two tallies of the series.
