REGINA, SK – Two of the three home teams were victorious on Tuesday, and the number of perfect teams shrank to two.
In a battle of unbeatens in Humboldt, the host Broncos got the game-winner from Connor Miller in his 100th SJHL game, Charlie Tritt stopped all 36 shots for his second shutout in three SJHL starts, and Brayden Klimosko’s men blanked the Weyburn Red Wings 3-0.
Miller also added an assist on Jacob Strizzi’s second-period power play insurance marker.
In La Ronge, it was the defending champion Melfort Mustangs who picked up their first win of the campaign, as they rallied to outlast the Ice Wolves 3-1 at the JRMCC.
Recently acquired defender Rhett Vedress notched the winner at the 13:20 mark of the middle frame.
Finally, the Battlefords North Stars got a pair from Linken Fisher and a strong 32-save effort from Connor Baumbach to down the Warman Wolverines 5-2. It was Battleford’s first home victory of the campaign.
