TUESDAY RECAP: Hounds, Wolves rally for dramatic road wins

SASKATOON, SK – Two veteran defencemen were road heroes Tuesday.

In North Battleford, Notre Dame’s Vincent Palmarin chipped home the overtime winner at the 2:51-mark of the extra frame after Hudson Kerr had tied the game at five with 35 seconds left in the third period. It gave the Hounds a wild 6-5 win in which six combined goals were scored in the final frame.

Similarly in Nipawin, the La Ronge Ice Wolves got the winner from blue liner Rylan Silzer 2:41 into overtime after the newly acquired Dmitri Toporowski tied the game at three five minutes into the third period. Silzer’s winner handed the Ice Wolves a 4-3 victory over the Hawks.

Finally, the Weyburn Red Wings flexed their new-found offensive muscles to cruise past the Millionaires 6-2 in Melville. Michigan Tech Division I NCAA commit Ethan Dekay led the way with two goals on the night.
