REGINA, SK – Nolan Patterson notched a pair, including the winner, as the Melfort Mustangs downed the Weyburn Red Wings 4-2 on Tuesday.
It was the Mustangs’ ninth win in a row, as they have only lost once in February at the time of this writing.
Tristin Ziola and Luke Mackenzie also added a goal and an assist on the night, while Kason Kobelka made 25 saves in the win.
Former Melfort forward Will Munro tallied in defeat.
Elsewhere in Flin Flon, the Bombers scored three times in 11:16 to start the contest and held on for a 4-2 victory over the Nipawin Hawks.
Leo Seitz scored a goal, the game winner, and added an assist, as the Bombers improved to 23-0 at home on the season.
The Bombers’ magic number to clinch first overall in the league is now down to seven points with seven games remaining for them.
Finally, in Melville, the Mils opened up a 5-2 lead and held on to edge the La Ronge Ice Wolves 5-4.
Kale Margolis paced the Melville offence with two goals on the night, while different Moneymen counted multi-point nights.
