REGINA, SK – Thomas Ries stole the puck in the neutral zone a minute into overtime, steamed in alone on the breakaway, and made no mistake to hand the Yorkton Terriers a 2-1 victory in Nipawin over the Hawks.

Jye Zawatsky had the other Yorkton goal at the 9:55 mark of the first period, while Mason Karakochuk’s fourth of the year tied the contest for Nipawin at one early in the second.

Callum Creig made 38 stops in the net for the win, while Gage Roberts also made 38 saves.

Meanwhile, in Kindersley, in a noon puck drop, school day game, Brett O’Halloran stopped 56 shots and Brock Evans scored the only goal of the shootout as the Kindersley Klippers edged the Warman Wolverines 3-2.

Evans also scored both Klippers goals in regulation, while Kane Kennedy had both tallies for the Wolverines.

It was Kindersley’s league-leading eighth overtime game.

Griffin Wright responded with 36 saves for Warman.
