Humboldt Broncos 2 (SO) vs Kindersley Klippers 1

The two Global Ag Risk Division opponents needed a shootout to decide their Tuesday night matchup.

Tylin Hilbig (7) opened the scoring in the first period. Logan Kurki (11) tied it early in the third. Other than that, it was a goalie battle between Humboldt’s Rayce Ramsay who stopped 23 of 24, against Matt Pesenti who turned aside 33 of 34.

Cage Newans and Matthew Perkins scored in the shootout for Humboldt who capitalized on 2 of 4 shooters. Meanwhile, Noah Lindsay was the lone goal scorer in the shootout for Kindersley, with Ramsay stopping 3 of 4 for his league leading 13th victory of the year.

Battlefords North Stars 6 (SO) @ Notre Dame Hounds 5

The North Stars picked up their second straight victory in a 6-5 shootout win over the hometown Hounds.

Plenty of scoring and four lead changes throughout a back-and-forth affair in Wilcox.

Steve Kesslering (7,8,9) led the way for the North Stars with a hat-trick, while Ryland McNinch (7) and Keiton Klein (1) rounded out the scoring.

Five different goals scorers for the Hounds with Johno Hoins (4), Bobby Pokopec (1), Kevin Anderson (3), Elliot Dutil (12), and Brendan Kerr (4) providing the goals.

The shootout was a lengthy seven-rounder, but in the end, Keiton Klein was able to break the deadlock and Michael Harroch stopped Landon Peterson for the win.

Melfort Mustangs 7 vs Flin Flon Bombers 3

The Mustangs picked up a statement win against one of the leagues top teams on Wednesday.

Melfort provided their offense by committee with 7 different goal-scorers and 12 different skaters securing at least one point.

Ty Albrecht (3), Seth McCullogh (8), Curtis Hammond (9), Ben Tkatchuk (6), Tye Evans (2), Tye Scherger (2), and Boston Maxwell (4) found the back of the net.

The Flin Flon Bombers entered the game with the second most goals scored in the SJHL but were held to just a trio by Melfort goalie, Joel Favreau who stopped 25 of 28 shots faced.

Jaxon Martens (7) and Matt Egan (1) scored, while Xavier Lapointe netted his 6th goal of the year which now leads all defensemen in the SJHL.

Melville Millionaires 4, @ Weyburn Red Wings 0

AP callup  goalie, Kelton Pyne had quite the performance in his first career SJHL start for the Millionaires.

The 16-year-old goaltender stopped all 31 shots he faced in a shutout performance to help the Mills pick up their 3rd win on the season.

Rylan Bruns added a pair of goals (3,4), with Zach Cain (6) and Nicholas Samson (1) collecting the others.

With the win the Melville Millionaires leapfrogged the Red Wings in the SJHL standings. Melville now sits in 11th place with an 3-8-4-0 record, while Weyburn moved into the basement, falling to 3-8-3-0.
