CAMROSE, AB – Reid Arberry powered down the left wing and beat the SAIT goaltender high short-side to lift Team SJHL to a 3-2 overtime win in the final game of the 2026 Viking Cup group stage.
SAIT, an ACAC team based in Calgary, needed only the point to reach Saturday’s gold medal final, and earned it by getting to overtime.
Arberry also scored a beautiful goal in the second period, dancing into the slot and snipping home to give SJHL the 2-0 lead at the time.
Zayden Sadlemyer finished a nifty feed from Brendan Olson in the first for the marker that opened the scoring.
Melville Millionaires alumni Colby Ball had one of SAIT’s goals on the afternoon.
The Trojans have 13 SJHL alums in their roster.
The same two teams will drop the puck at 6:00 P.M. MT Saturday, while the University of Alberta at Augustana and Team Czechia will battle for bronze.
