REGINA, SK – Kaleb Binner scored a goal – the game winner – and added a helper as the Melfort Mustangs won their third straight Wednesday, downing the Estevan Bruins 4-1.
Zayden Sadlemyer extended his personal point streak to four games with a goal and an assist of his own, while Kason Kobelka made 23 stops in the win.
The two-time defending champions are now three points back of a playoff spot.
Finally, in Weyburn, it was the visiting Yorkton Terriers who extended their win streak to seven games with a 5-1 win over the Red Wings.
Gabriel Courchesne notched a goal and an assist in the win to stretch his current league-high point streak to 12 games. He has 19 points over that span and is now tied with Bruins forward Ewan Rennie for the league lead in points on 62.
His line, with Jye Zawatsky and William Leonard, accounted for three of the Terriers’ five tallies, while Callum Creig stopped 28 shots for his sixth win in a row.
