REGINA, SK – Preston Patenaude made 36 stops for his first career SJHL shutout and Louis Nadeau scored the winner 1:58 into overtime as the Melville Millionaires blanked the Melfort Mustangs 1-0 Wednesday.
Patenaude, whom Melville acquired from Weyburn at the trade deadline, has allowed only two goals in 121:58 as a Millionaire and has won both of his starts in the blue and white.
The victory slipped the Mils into seventh place, one point ahead of Kindersley in the eighth and final playoff spot.
Elsewhere in Estevan, the Bruins got 29 stops from Dylan Adams and Nathaniel Harvey’s first-period marker held up as the winner en route to a 4-1 win over the Kindersley Klippers.
Ewan Rennie was the game’s high scorer with a goal and an assist on the evening.
