It was almost a case of ‘last shot wins’ in Humboldt where the Broncos outlasted the visiting Flin Flon Bombers to the tune of a 6-5 home ice victory.
The Bombers led 2-0 midway through the first period but the Broncos were able to battle back, eventually taking the lead early in the third period before the two clubs traded goals the rest of the way. Jordan Bogress (1g-1a) potted the winner with six minutes left in regulation.
Logan Hunter, Logan Schatz, Brayden Camrud and Logan Boulet all had a goal and an assist as well as Bogress. Jacob Leicht rounded out the scoring and Kaleb Dahlgren added a pair of assists for Humboldt (5-4-1-0). It’s interesting to note there’s a three way tie for 1st in the Olympic Buildings Division, but Battlefords has four games in hand (6 played) on Humboldt and Kindersley. Notre Dame is just one point back of all three.
Nick Shumlanski had three assists for the Bombers (5-2-0-3), while Chrystopher Collin (1g-1a), Kurtis Rutledge (1g-1a), Calvon Boots, Caleb Moretz and Nate Hooper did the scoring. Flin Flon continues their road trip Thursday in Notre Dame.

Erik Olson also scored and Jake MacLennan made 23/24 saves in his first start of this season.
Luke Lush turned away 31/33 shots in goal for the Ice Wolves (1-7-0-1) and Dawson Boehm notched his first SJHL goal.

And after seeing their 8 game winning streak to start the season end during their Estevan/Weyburn trip over the weekend, the Melfort Mustangs got back to business with an 8-1 win over the Melville Millionaires.
Defenseman Loch Morrison had an offensive outburst scoring three times and adding two assists for a five point night. Morrison, the former Western Hockey Leaguer, has seven goals and 13 points through his first 11 games.
Colin Schmidt scored twice for the Mustangs (9-1-1-0), while Tyson Meyers (1g-1a), Eric McNeilly and Boedy Donald added the others. Evan Plotnik made 29/30 saves in the win.
Ethan Kopyczyn added his second goal of the season for the Millionaires (3-7-0-1).
