WEDNESDAY WRAP

Kristian Lyon made 42 saves, earning a shutout in his Battlefords debut, and the North Stars (34-7-2-0) extended their lead at the top of the SJHL standings with a 5-0 win in Melville, taking all four points on their Notre Dame / Melville swing.

Elijah Loon-Stewardson, Noah Form and Timon Prexler all had a goal and an assist, while Austin Becker and Jaxon Steele added goals.  Ben Hiltz and Seth Summers had two assists each.

Berk Berkeliev made 34/39 saves in goal for the Millionaires (13-23-2-24).

The La Ronge Ice Wolves picked up a 3-2 win in Melfort as those two teams are two of many jostling for position in the middle of the playoff picture over the next month and a half.

The Ice Wolves (23-16-3-2) now have a three point lead on Melfort for fourth spot, while Melfort has four games in hand.

Logan Holm, Holden Knights and Jake Gudjonson had the goals Wednesday, and Xavier Cannon got the start, and the win, stopping 25/27 shots.

Ben Tkachuk opened the scoring for the Mustangs (22-14-3-1) early in the second period, and Kyle Bosch added a late one.  Shawn Parkinson made 27/30 saves in the loss.
