The Notre Dame Hounds own a share of sixth place after they picked up points in their seventh straight game, a 3-2 win over the Melfort Mustangs on Wednesday night.

The Mustangs scored first but the Hounds stormed back with the next three as Nick Rein (1g-1a), Chance Longjohn and Adam Dawe did the scoring.

Notre Dame (24-21-6-1) is now tied for 6th with Yorkton, and have three games in hand.  They’re just one point back of Humboldt for 5th with one in hand.

Miles Warkentine and Reed Gunville scored for the Mustangs (20-27-2-4) while Dakota Boutin assisted on both.  Melfort’s still just four points up on Melville for the final playoff spot, and the Millionaires have a game in hand.

The Battlefords North Stars have already sewn up the first overall seed, but their latest winning streak has reached eight, with a 5-1 decision in Kindersley.

Coby Downs had two goals and two assists, and has five goals and seven points in his last two games.  Layne Young (1g-1a), Keaton Holinaty and Connor Manegre also scored and Taryn Kotchorek made 32/33 saves for the Stars (45-8-1-0).

Carson Pickett replied for the Klippers (24-28-3-0), who remain in 9th place with three games to go.
