MARTENSVILLE, SK – That is a wrap for the 2025 Western All-Star Challenge, presented by Palliser Insurance, from Martensville, SK.
Virden Oil Capitals defenceman Lincoln Black-Greaves one-timed home the tying goal at the 11:22 mark of the third. Then, Steinbach Piston and University of Maine-commit Rory Gilmour tucked in the winner to hand Team MJHL the 5-4 victory in Game 2.
Yorkton Terrier Thomas Ries scored a goal and added an assist to pace the SJHL, and co-led the event in scoring with Virden Oil Capitals forward Bryce Bryant.
Four different schools packed the stands, with scouts and fans, to provide another entertaining spectacle.

Waywayseecapo Wolverines forward Cole Hunter, committed to Northern Michigan University, scored twice for the MJHL. At the same time, Cash Olson (Estevan Bruins), Connor Miller (Humboldt Broncos), and Wyatt Stinton (Flin Flon Bombers) also found the back of the net for the SJHL.

The players will now disperse to their club teams and await word from head coach Trevor Blevins (Melfort Mustangs) and general manager Mike McAuly (Niverville Nighthawks) regarding who made the cut ahead of the Junior A World Challenge in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Dec. 7-13, 2025.
