Wolves, Mustangs, and Bruins Victorious Wednesday Night

Three games Wednesday night in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and it was La Ronge, Melfort, and Estevan all earning a valuable two points. A full recap of the night can be found below.

The Estevan Bruins bounced back in a big way Wednesday night as they blanked the Notre Dame Hounds 4-0 in Carlyle. Gabriel Filion, Tim Tychonick, Mitch Kohner, and Evan Forrest all found the back of the net for the Bruins in the victory, while Cam Hrdlicka stopped 29 shots for his 5th shutout of the season. The Bruins finish the 2022 portion of their schedule with a 20-15-0-1 record and going into Thursday night’s action are in 3rd place in the SJHL. Meanwhile the Hounds will play their final game prior to the holiday break on Friday in Weyburn against the Red Wings.

Melville 1 Melfort 9 (Highlights Unavailable)

It was a dominant performance for the Melfort Mustangs Wednesday night as they exploded for 9 goals and earned their 16th win of the season with a 9-1 victory over Melville. 11 different Mustangs had points Wednesday evening and was highlighted by Defenceman Kevin Minnoch who had a goal and three assists. The win vaults Melfort’s record to 16-8-5-1 and are now in 5th in the SJHL. They will play a home and home this weekend against the Nipawin Hawks. For Melville, they will look to finish the 2022 portion of their schedule on a winning note Friday when they host the Battlefords North Stars.

Just one game Thursday night in the SJHL as the Battlefords North Stars begin 3 games in 3 nights in Yorkton against the Terriers. Puck drop is at 7pm.
