The Yorkton Terriers Junior A Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Mat Hehr will remain as the team’s Head Coach and General Manager. The Yorkton Terriers Board of Directors and Mat have agreed to a 2 year contract plus an option year.
In Mat’s first full year as Head Coach and General Manager, he successfully changed the culture in the dressing room to promote a more positive team experience. He developed a strong, team first support staff that included a full scouting staff, assistant general manager, and role specific assistants. Mat and his team successfully went from 13 wins to 31 wins this past season and extended the team’s playoff run into the SJHL Semi-Finals for the first time since 2014.
