Broncos acquire veteran Fouquette on Draft Day

The Humboldt Broncos acquired veteran defenceman Tre Fouquette from the Nipawin Hawks during the 2024 SJHL Draft, in exchange for four draft picks.

Fouquette, 20, has featured in 106 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League games, split between the La Ronge Ice Wolves and the Hawks.

He has six goals and 39 points over that span.

He has also played in 37 Western Hockey League contests for the Prince Albert Raiders and Brandon Wheat Kings.

The Broncos selected Fouquette’s younger brother Tatum in the 2024 SJHL Draft in the first round, 10th overall.

“We are excited to add an elite player like Tre to our club for this coming season,” said Humboldt head coach and general manager Scott Barney on the club’s social media.

“His veteran experience, leadership and ability will be instrumental in all our players success.”

The Humboldt Broncos also traded their second-round pick (20th overall ) and their fourth-round pick (46th overall) in the 2024 SJHL Draft to the Yorkton Terriers for prospect Boston Schmidt.
