La Ronge Ice Wolves defenceman Parker Layton has committed to the University of Alberta at Augustana for the 2024-25 campaign.

Layton, 21, just completed a terrific and consistent three-year Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League career, posting 91 points in 156 games; all for his hometown Wolves.

The 6-foot-2, 194-pound left-shot blue liner scored 49 points in 54 games in his final SJHL campaign last year, and appeared in eight professional contests with the Columbus River Dragons of the Federal Prospects Hockey League upon its conclusion.

Alberta at Augustana competes in the Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference and featured 10 SJHL alumni on its roster a year ago.
