The hockey games played between Sunday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 26 were more than just a set of contests played between familiar teams. They were part of a showcase, and exhibition, a display of talent, for a new community, a new set of fans— and yes for the decision-makers at the next level of the game.
The SJHL is proud to bring our players, teams and staff together, in order to allow a larger-than-average audience the chance to see what we are lucky enough to witness night in, and night out during the season— a group of dedicated young men, giving everything they have in the furthered pursuit of a dream they’ve held since they were children. And when they were given the stage to demonstrate what this meant to them, not a single one disappointed.
The action we saw on the ice and the professionalism we saw off of it were a testament to the passion, desire and commitment that is at the very soul of each and every one of the 12 clubs that comprise the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.
So, to everyone who came out in person, or watch via Facebook Live, or SaskTel MaxTV— thank you. And to everyone who is just seeing the showcase for the first time now, consider this your invitation to become part of the SJHL Family.
