2024 SJHL post-season set to kick off Mar 22

REGINA, SK – The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is proud to announce that the 2024 SJHL Playoffs presented by UPL will begin Friday, March 22, 2024.

This is the second consecutive campaign that the post-season will be sponsored by our great partners at UPL.

“UPL is pleased to be the presenting partner of the 2024 SJHL Playoffs,” said Tony Dalgliesh, Canada Marketing Manager for UPL.

“The playoffs are an exciting time of year and we’re proud to have our brand associated with that excitement. Partnering with the SJHL through the 2023-2024 season has been a great experience for UPL. With our aligned approach to development, people and the communities in which we serve, this partnership was an obvious choice and one we will continue in the future.” – Tony Dalgliesh, Canada Marketing Manager

The first round will run from March 22 to Apr. 2 and will feature four best-of-seven games series.

As the league’s Top 8 teams make the post-season, the matchups are Seed #1 vs #8, #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, and #4 vs #5. The higher-seeded team will have home-ice advantage in each round.

“We had an extremely competitive regular season with some outstanding team and individual performances,” said SJHL’s Commissioner Kyle McIntyre.

“Congratulations to our regular season champions, the Flin Flon Bombers, and congratulations to the other seven teams qualifying for playoffs. Our playoffs promise to be epic. Any of our remaining eight teams are capable of being crowned the Canterra Seeds Cup Champion at the end of April.”

Round 2 will run from Apr. 4 to Apr. 15, and will feature the final four teams re-seeded based on whomever advances from Round 1.

The Canterra Seeds Cup Final is scheduled for Apr. 19 to May 3. The winner of that series will earn the SJHL’s spot at the 2024 Centennial Cup, the Junior A National Championship, which will run from May 9 to 19 in Oakville, ON.
