2024-2025 RBC-SJHL Community Ambassador Team

For the seventh year, RBC is partnering with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) to highlight the league’s athletes making a difference in the community.

One player from each SJHL team who has shown exemplary commitment to their community and is a strong leader on and off the ice will be named to the 12-member RBC Community Ambassador team. RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to the communities where they play. Each Ambassador is celebrated at an RBC Game Night* and will be honoured by a $1,000 donation from RBC to a school in their local community.

Fans can vote online for the RBC Community Ambassador nominee of their choice to be honoured as the SJHL’s RBC Community Award recipient at the end of the SJHL regular season. This comes with a further $2,500 donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.

Last year’s SHL RBC Community Award Winner, Joey Lies of the Flin Flon Bombers, received his award and donated $2,500 to Ruth Betts Elementary School in Flin Flon.

“The town on Flin Flon means everything to me,” says Bombers forward Joey Lies. “Growing up here and watching this team as a kid, to now playing on it and being a person the next generation can look up to is super special to me. Receiving this award last year and being able to help out my old school was amazing, and I’d love to give back to them again as much as I can.”

“The SJHL is honoured to continue this partnership and bring back the RBC Community Ambassador Program,” SJHL Director of Marketing and Partnerships Jacob Faith said. “Partnerships like this that give back to the community while engaging with on-ice play are the types of relationships that are valuable beyond measure for our league and the twelve-member communities. We’re all looking forward to the battle to be crowned the SJHL’s RBC Community Ambassador this season.”

This year’s RBC Community Ambassadors will be recognized at RBC Game Nights, which will occur between January 4 and February 28, 2025.
