Goals For KidSport

Celebrating 10 Seasons of Goals for KidSport!

Goals for KidSport is a collaboration between SaskEnergy and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) that helps raise funds for KidSport Saskatchewan. KidSport helps youth participate in sport by reducing the financial pressure often associated with accessing these types of activities.

SaskEnergy proudly donates $20 to KidSport for every home goal scored by an SJHL team throughout the hockey season. SaskEnergy Network Members also contribute funding to KidSport and help celebrate the generous volunteers in each SJHL community. To date, the program has raised more than $230,000 to help ensure all kids can play.

Awards

To celebrate and recognize the invaluable volunteers and achievements of community sport initiatives, the following awards are delivered each season:

• The KidSport Cup is awarded to the SJHL team who scores the most home goals
• The player who scores the 1000th goal is acknowledged. This event symbolizes SaskEnergy’s $20,000 contribution to KidSport!
• Volunteer Champion Awards are presented to individuals or groups of volunteers in each SJHL community who show dedication and support for their home team

On average, KidSport provides $200 per child in funding. Over the past 20 years, SaskEnergy is proud to have helped raise $1.3 million creating access to sport for 6,500 kids in Saskatchewan!
