The Humboldt Broncos extended their season on Saturday night, thanks to a 3-2 overtime win in Flin Flon in Game 4 of their SJHL Semi-Final series.
Bronco captain Kade Olsen (1g-1a) (pictured) scored 4:16 into overtime to cut Flin Flon’s lead in the series to 3-1. Humboldt had a 2-0 lead after Lucas Ceccarelli opened the scoring in the first period, and Matthew Perkins added his first of the playoffs in the second. The Bombers didn’t go away as Drew Kuzma got them on the board less than three minutes later, and then in the dying moments, Jaeden Mercier forced overtime with just six seconds on the clock.
Rayce Ramsay made 32/34 saves to pick up the win while Cal Schell turned away 30/33 at the other end.
The series moves back to Humboldt for Game 5 on Tuesday night. If it goes beyond that, the schedule is set for Game 6 Friday in Flin Flon, and Game 7 next Sunday back in Humboldt.
