The Estevan Bruins are one victory away from a berth in the SJHL Canalta Cup Final, after they beat the visiting Battlefords North Stars 5-2 on Monday night, to grab a commanding 3-0 series edge in their Best-of-Seven SJHL Semi-Final.

Zach Goberis had a hat trick for the Bruins, scoring Estevan’s first three goals.  Michael McChesney added a goal and two assists, while captain Jake Fletcher also scored and Bo Didur made 36/38 saves, improving his and the Bruins’ record in these playoffs to 7-0-0.  Didur has a 1.71 GAA and a .944% in the post-season.

MacGregor Sinclair and Levi Kleiboer each had a goal and an assist and Layne Young had a pair of helpers for the North Stars.  The defending champions face elimination on Tuesday night’s Game 4 in Estevan.

The Nipawin Hawks take a 2-0 series lead into Game 3 in Humboldt on Tuesday as well.
