Drew Kuzma scored 9:15 into overtime on Saturday and the Flin Flon Bombers are leaving Humboldt with a 2-0 series lead in their Best-of-Seven SJHL Semi.

It was Kuzma’s second of the night, third of the seriers, fourth in his last three games and fifth of the playoffs which now leads the team.

Zak Smith also scored and Cal Schell made 35 saves on 37 shots.

Jerzy Orchard got the Broncos on the board first in period one, giving them their only lead of the series so far and it was short-lived as Kuzma’s first of the night came just 39 seconds later.  Connor McGrath scored his first of the playoffs to force overtime.  McGrath also has nine assists in the post-season, and led the league with 84 points (35g-49a) during the regular season.

Rayce Ramsay stopped 40/43 shots in goal for the Broncos.

With the SJHL having some time to let the MJHL playoff schedule catch up, the Broncos and Bombers are taking nearly a week off before Flin Flon hosts Games 3 and 4 next Friday and Saturday.

Nolan Wutzke had the only goal for Yorkton, while Kael DePape stopped 26 of the 29 shots he faced.
