The Flin Flon Bombers announced another Directwest commitment for one of their 20-year-olds.

Gabriel Shipper has officially announced his commitment to continue his hockey and academic career with the Bowdin College Polar Bears (NCAA Division III) for the 2022/23 season.

Shipper, a native of Sherman Oaks, California, has 16 points (5g, 11a) in 35 games during his first season with the Bombers. The 5’8 speedster continues to impress Head Coach and GM, Mike Reagan in all situations.

“Ship was unknown to us at the beginning of the year, but we are sure glad we brought him in,” said Reagan. “He brings such a good work ethic and energy to our team. He can play anywhere in your lineup because he has the skillset to play with offensive players, but also excels in a shutdown role as well. ”

Before making the transition up north to the SJHL, Shipper spent two years at The Hill School, a USA Prep High-School in New England. Then in 2020/21 he lined-up for the Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers of the NA3HL.

The Flin Flon Bombers are currently among the SJHL’s elite. They sit in first place in the Sherwood Division, and third place in the SJHL.

Bowdin College is located in Brunswick, Maine.
