REGINA, SK – Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League prospects are set to represent Team Saskatchewan at the 2024 WHL Cup.
The event, which will take place in Red Deer, AB, from Oct. 22 to 27, annually pits the provincial Under-16 squads of BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba against each other in a week-long tournament.
Of Team Sask’s roster, five SJHL draft picks were named, including:
- Cade Mitchell, Nipawin Hawks
- Marek McIvor, La Ronge Ice Wolves
- Jake Evans, Humboldt Broncos
- Hudson Postnikoff, Melville Millionaires
- Hunter Wilm, Weyburn Red Wings
The team comprises what are meant to be the Top 20 2009-born prospects in the province. Notre Dame Hounds Junior A bench boss Brett Pilkington will head coach the team, while Kyle Schneider, the assistant coach of the La Ronge Ice Wolves, will be the video coach.
Former Kindersley Klippers’ assistant, Mitch Topinka, will assist Pilkington at the event.

Team Saskatchewan will begin the event on Wednesday, Oct. 23, against the hosts Alberta.
