KLIPPERS BREAK OUT IN WEYBURN

Alex Maticic scored with 1:49 left in regulation, giving the Melville Millionaires their first lead of the game, and they hung on for a 3-2 win over the league-leading Estevan Bruins, ending Estevan’s winning streak at seven games.

Chance Paterson and Cory Schillo also scored for the Millionaires (8-9-1-0) while Colby Entz made 24/26 saves.

Jason Miller and Hayden Guilderson got the Bruins (15-4-0-1) out to a 2-1 lead after the first period.  Curtis Meger made 33/36 saves in goal.

Defenseman Clive Rozdeba scored two goals and added two assists as the Kindersley Klippers rolled to an 8-3 win over the Red Wings in Weyburn.

Carson Pickett also had a four point night with a goal and three assists.  Branden Wagner (1g-1a), Andrew McCaan, Ivan Vilacauskas, Drayton Thunderchief and Jordan Funk also scored for the Klippers (8-10-1-0), and Nick Trenciansky made 29/32 saves.

Jacob Wozney scored twice for the Red Wings and Devon Becker had the other for the Red Wings (11-8-0-1), who produced all their offense in the second period.

The Battlefords North Stars have taken top spot in the Finning Division from the Humboldt Broncos, thanks to a 4-3 shootout win that leapfrogged the Stars a point ahead of Humboldt.

The win was the seventh in a row for the North Stars (15-5-0-0).  Brett Horn (1g-1a), while Conor Jensen and Keaton Holinaty added the others.  Connor Logan had two assists and added the only goal in the shootout.

Tristen Elder scored twice for the Ice Wolves (2-13-0-3).  Jared Blaquiere got La Ronge on the board with a powerplay goal, and Aaron MacKay made 53/56 saves.
