Steven Kesserling scored 2:20 into overtime, and the Battlefords North Stars stayed perfect on home ice this season, with a 4-3 (OT) win over the Flin Flon Bombers on Friday night.

Austin Becker added a goal and an assist and Matthew Fletcher had a pair of helpers for the North Stars (12-1-0-0). Brett Gammer and Matthias Urbanski had the others, and Adam Dmyterko made 28/31 saves.

The Bombers’ top line remains at the top of the scoring charts, as Donavan Houle-Villeneuve scored two more, giving him 14 on the year, while Alec Malo’s goal and an assist gives him a league-high 23 points (5g-18a) through 11 games. Matt Sanker made 39/43 saves for Flin Flon. The Bombers (7-3-1-0) conclude an unconventional road trip, nearly 500 kilometres from Battlefords, Saturday in Yorkton.

The La Ronge Ice Wolves’ shutout streak is over, but their winning streak is alive and well as they won their fourth in a row, 5-4 in Estevan.

The Ice Wolves (6-7-0-0) were a perfect 2/2 on the powerplay, as Kyle Ford (1g-1a) and Aaron Greyeyes scored with the man advantage. Jordan Mish, Dylan Thackeray Jake Gudjonson (1g-1a) rounded out the scoring. Daylon Mannon had two assists giving him 21-points (9g-12a) on the year. Liam McGarva, after back to back shutouts, made 29/33 saves on Friday.

For the Bruns (3-5-1-1-), Griffin Asham-Moroz had a goal and two assists, Tyler Savage scored twice and Austin King-Cunningham had the other.

Luke Spadafora racked up five points with three goals and two assists, leading the Melville Millionaires past the Yorkton Terriers 7-4.

Nic Porterfield (1g-1a), Rin Beny, Luke Nkwama and Jonathan Kraft added the others. Defenseman Tanner Brown added three assists and Kaleb McEachern made 22/26 saves in his first SJHL win for the Millionaires (4-5-2-1).

Chantz Petruic had his fourth straight multi-goal game for the Terriers (4-7-0-0), scoring twice, giving him 13 goals on the season, and nine in his last four games.

Steven Norum and Alec Zawatsky also scored for Yorkton and Tyson Janzen set up a pair.

The Nipawin Hawks are 5-0 on home ice this season after their 7-2 win over Humboldt on Friday.

Brodie Girod (2g-1a), Zach Cox (2g-1a) and Burke Simpson scored twice each while captain Jake Tremblay added a single.

Ross Hawryluk made 20/22 saves in goal for the Hawks (9-3-0-0).

Zach McIntyre and Tristan Shewchuk did the scoring for the Broncos (6-4-0-1).

The Melfort Mustangs stayed one point up on Nipawin for the Sherwood Division lead with a 3-2 win over Kindersley. The Mustangs (8-2-2-1) now have points in 11 straight games (8-0-2-1).

After a scoreless first period, Zach Anderson and Zack Smith scored in the second for Melfort, and Alex Rondeau added the eventual winner in the third. Shawn Parkinson made 28/30 saves.

Austin Nault and Scott McKenzie scored, while Zach Johnson made 28/31 saves for the Klippers (3-7-1-0).
