Taras McEwen has been hired as the new Assistant Coach of the Notre Dame Hounds, of the SJHL. Taras replaces Bear Trapp, who stepped down after two seasons with the Hounds. Taras is from Whitewood, SK, and has been involved with SHA and Jr B programs in SK for numerous seasons. He most recently was the Head Coach and GM of the Ft Knox Hockey Club in the PJHL.
“We’d like to welcome Taras and his wife, Emma, to Notre Dame. Taras comes to us highly recommended and we are excited to add him to our list of impressive staff members on the Notre Dame campus”, Head Coach/GM Clint Mylymok said. “Taras has some history with Notre Dame, and really understands what the team, school and campus is all about. He is excited to get things going, starting with training camp on the 30th.”
Taras will also take on the role of Hockey Operations Assistant in the school’s hockey office. Notre Dame’s Jr A main camp starts Aug 30th and is open to the public.
