The Notre Dame Hounds are proud to announce Liam Hunks as our new captain ahead of the 2024-2025 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League campaign.
Hunks, 20, enters his third season as a Hound and has been an elite two-way presence. He has posted 40 points in 80 games as one of the most dynamic defencemen in the SJHL.
He takes over for the graduated Carson Baylis.
“I am just excited and appreciative,” Hunks said.
A native of Beaumont, AB, in the suburbs of Edmonton, Hunks spent time with the Surrey Eagles and Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League before joining the Hounds. He was also an affiliated player called up for six games for the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Spruce Grove Saints while playing U18 for the Leduc Oil Kings.
“(Liam) has been a huge part of this program over the last two and a half years,” added head coach and general manager Brett Pilkington.
“He is a great hockey person and just a great person in the community. I look forward to working with him to learn this year’s group.”
