KLIPPERS HAND STARS FIRST REGULATION LOSS

By Craig Stein

It took 12 games, but the defending champion Battlefords North Stars have a regulation loss, and it came in Kindersley against their rival Klippers on Tuesday night.

The North Stars (10-1-1-0) did score first, when Dakota Huebner notched his 7th goal of the season early in the second period.  Eddie May (1g-1a) evened things up shortly after, before the Klippers (8-5-2-0) tacked on three unanswered in the third, from Austin Nault, Cameron Shorrock and Nikolas Malenica.

Justen Close made 32/33 saves in the win while Kolby Matthews turned away 24/27 from the Stars.

It’s a much busier Wednesday night, when November kicks off with four games.
