At this year’s Annual General Meeting in the president’s message, we learned that the board would be losing a few members for the upcoming season.

First, President Jordan Lee announced that he would be stepping down and away from the board after eight seasons. Jordan was president for three seasons, taking over the role from Chad Elliot after being vice-president for the two seasons Chad was president. Before these roles, Jordan was secretary for two seasons and director for one. Jordan took on the role of president as Covid was coming to an end and played a major part in getting the club to what we see today. His level of commitment to the club did not go unnoticed by the rest of the board and the community around the Mustangs. The Melfort Mustang organization would like to send out a huge thank you to Jordan for his contributions and the endless time he gave to the club. We will miss him but will surely see him around the rink in the coming season.

The board had a few others move on as well. Jamie and Darin Placsko have stepped away after many years with the club. Jamie joined in 2011 and Darin the year after, the organization would like to thank them both for everything they have done over the years. Marley Seymour stepped down after two seasons as she moved her family home to Manitoba. We wish her and her family all the best in their new adventure. Wayne Love was tragically lost shortly after our 2023/2024 season came to an end, he will be missed greatly around the rink. Kelsey Pederson moved on to take on the Director of Marketing role with the Mustangs. We will see her around the rink, in the community, and in the Mustang office.

The Mustangs would like to thank Jordan, Jamie, Darin, Marley, Wayne, and Kelsey for the time and effort they put into this organization.
