REGINA, SK – The Melfort Mustangs utilized at least one third-period power-play goal for the fourth consecutive game and won their decade-record-tying 16th-straight game with a 3-0 victory over the Melville Millionaires Friday.

Mustangs’ goaltender Kristian Coombs stopped all 14 shots he faced on the night for his second shutout of the campaign.

The last time a team won more in a row in the SJHL was in 2011-12 when the Humboldt Broncos notched 17 consecutive victories. Battlefords, who would go on to win the league championship, took 16 in a row in their magical 2022-2023 season.

In the other contest of the night, Keenan Ingram led the way with four goals and the Yorkton Terriers powered past the Estevan Bruins 7-3. It was the Terriers’ eighth win in a row.
