SGEU MVP of the Week – Steven Kesslering, Battlefords North Stars

What more can you say about the play of Steven Kesslering during the 2023 playoffs. The 20-year-old forward found the back of the net 14 times during the post-season, including 8 times during the month of April. Kesslering was instrumental in the Stars completing the sweep against the Flin Flon Bombers in the SJHL Final, netting two goals in the Championship clinching game Saturday night.

Sasktel Goalie of the Week – Josh Kotai, Battlefords North Stars

The Sasktel Goalie of the Year in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League continued his dominance in the post-season and when called upon, was always there to make a big save for the Battlefords North Stars. Josh Kotai went 7-0 during the month of April and finished the month with a 1.49 GAA and a .953 save percentage. He also had a pair of shutouts.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week – Alexi Sylvestre, Flin Flon Bombers 

The best player consistently throughout the playoffs or the Flin Flon Bombers was Alexi Sylvestre. The 18-year-old rookie finished the post-season just under a point per game and did everything in his power to help Flin Flon extend the series in Game 4 as he found the back of the net three times.

SuperU Defenseman of the Week – Tynan Ewart, Battlefords North Stars

Leading the charge on the blue line for the Battlefords North Stars all season long has been SuperU Defenseman of the Year Tynan Ewart. The 20-year-old had an excellent post-season to follow up his phenomenal regular season. In the month of April, Ewart had a goal and seven assists and finished the 2023 SJHL Playoffs with 2 goals and 12 assists.
