CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Keegan Milligan, Nipawin Hawks
1996 F Keegan Milligan (Emerald Park SK) ripped a goal and five assists in three Nipawin victories this past week as the Hawks stretched their winning streak to 11. He kicked off the week with a three helper game at La Ronge and then finished with a goal and two assists in back to back games against Melfort. Milligan has flourished as a Hawk as Nipawin has won all eleven games since his arrival and he now has 3-goals and 9-assists in that time frame. He has 46-points in 48-games overall. Runner-up: Ben Duperreault, Notre Dame.
SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Kristian Stead, Nipawin Hawks
1996 G Kristian Stead (Merrit BC) continued his amazing run with two more victories and another shutout, which stretched to 259 minutes before finally being beat for a goal. Stead stopped 76-of-78 shots in back to back weekend games against Melfort, one of which was a 33-save shutout. He’s now 23-and-9 with a 1.87-GAA and .939-SPCT with 6-shutouts. Runner-up: Benjamin Patt, Notre Dame.
IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK: Eric Sinclair, Flin Flon Bombers
1996 D Eric Sinclair (Kenora ON) paced the Bombers with 4-goals and 1-assist in 4-road games this past week. He scored twice at Melville on Thursday and then picked up two more on Saturday at Notre Dame, accounting for both of his club’s goals. He had an assist on Sunday in a loss at Estevan. He’s up to 12-goals and 24-assists in 35-games as a Bomber and 41-points in 37-games overall. Runner-up: Connor Swystun, Humboldt.
SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Adam Dawe, Notre Dame Hounds
1999 F Adam Dawe (Gander NL) sparked the Hounds this past week with a goal and seven helpers in three games played. Dawe had five helpers in a blowout win over Estevan on Wednesday, then scored his team’s only goal on Friday against Yorkton and capped the week with two assists in a 3-2 win over Flin Flon on Saturday. Runner-up: Chaz Smedsrud, Notre Dame.
