SGEU MVP of the Week & Sasktel Goalie of the Week: William Dyke, Melville Millionaires

The Melville Millionaires are 4-0-0-1 in their last five and this week goaltender William Dyke was a brick wall in between the pipes for the “Money Men”. In two starts this week, the 20-year-old only allowed a pair of goals and was perfect in the Mills 3-0 win over the Nipawin Hawks to kick off the week. The Lethbridge, Alberta product is 18-12-0-1 on the season with a 3.15 GAA and a .902 SV%.

Bourgault Forward of the Week: Alexi Sylvestre, Flin Flon Bombers

Leading the way in the points department this past week was Flin Flon Bombers forward Alexi Sylvestre. In three games played this past week the 19-year-old found the back of the net four times and added four assists as the Bombers went 2-1. Sylvestre’s week was highlighted by a five-point night Saturday in the Bombers 8-6 loss to the Battlefords North Stars. Sylvestre currently sits 6th in league scoring going into the new week with 25 goals and 38 assists in 46 games played.

SuperU Defenceman of the Week: Noah Houle, Flin Flon Bombers

On the blue line, Noah Houle had a big week for the Bombers as he extended his lead at the top of the leaderboard for scoring among defenceman. In three games played this past week, Houle scored twice and set up another four as the 20-year-old defenceman racked up six points. Houle is now up to 11 goals and 49 assists on the season in 44 games played.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week: Luc Bydal, Melville Millionaires

Climbing the ranks when it comes to rookie scoring in the SJHL is Luc Bydal of the Melville Millionaires. The pride of Grand Forks, North Dakota found the back of the net three times and added two assists as the Mills went a perfect 3-0. In 41 games played in his rookie season, Bydal has 19 goals and 20 assists and is ranked 2nd among rookie scoring.

Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week: Clay Sleeva, Melfort Mustangs (from Canora, Sask)

It’s safe to say Clay Sleeva is enjoying his new home in the SJHL. The Canora, Saskatchewan product has now been with the Mustangs for two months and he continues to compile points playing on a line with Zac Somers. Sleeva had five points this past week for Melfort as they won 2 out of 3 of their games. This included a big four-point game Friday night in Estevan against the Bruins. Sleeva also had a goal Saturday against Weyburn and also netted the shootout winner.
