Red Wings Snap Losing Streak With Comeback Win in Kindersley

The Weyburn Red Wings got back in the win column Tuesday night, thanks to a 4-3 comeback win over the Kindersley Klippers.

It wasn’t the start the Wings would have liked as they trailed 3-0 early in the 2nd period. However, a goaltending change would spark the visitors. Mathieu Gauthier would kick start the comeback with his 2nd of the season and then later on in the frame Riley See would net his 4th of the campaign to get Weyburn back to within one. Weyburn would carry their momentum into the 3rd period as Matthew Reidy would tie the game just 2:58 into the frame, which marked his 2nd of the season. The Wings would then complete the comeback with 8:55 remaining in the frame as Elijah Anderson potted his 2nd of the season, which would turn out to be the game winning goal. With the win, Weyburn snaps their 3 game losing streak and improve to 5-8-0-0 on the year. They will be back on the ice Friday in Melville against the Millionaires.

Meanwhile, for the Klippers, they played Tuesday night’s game a bit shorthanded due to injuries and a suspension. Matthew Mazzocchi scored a pair and Aiden Bangs also found the back of the net for the Klippers in the loss as they drop to 2-7-0-2 on the year. They will continue their five game homestand Friday night when they host the Humboldt Broncos.
