SaskPower Rankings: Week 21 – Feb. 24, 2026

SJHL Power Rankings – Week 21 (Feb. 24, 2026)

1. Flin Flon Bombers (Last week 1)

Two more wins against Melville did not come easy this past weekend, but wins are wins, and the bounces seem to keep going the Bombers’ way.  Flin Flon doesn’t have a single player in the Top 10 in league scoring, but 10 players with 30 points or more; depth with an eye on a long run and on sustaining success, even though this team just can’t get fully healthy. Tuesday night’s clash with the Nipawin Hawks at the Whitney Forum will be must-see TV.

2. Yorkton Terriers (Last week 2)

The Terriers bounced back from the end of their long win streak last week with a couple of solid wins over Humboldt. One they needed to rally, one they controlled, but with a very reasonable, home-heavy schedule the rest of the way, things are really looking up at the Westland Arena. Callum Creig has been outstanding in the second half of February as well in net, so that might be the best news for Emery Olauson and staff right now.

3. Nipawin Hawks (Last week 5)

The Hawks had a rare, disappointing weekend on the road 9-10 days ago, but responded with all the thunder they could muster. Three games this past week yielded three wins, 18 goals, and more weekly awards for members of what has been the best line in the SJHL in 2026, with Eric Hoiness between Mason Karakochuk and Sean Shiels. There has been plenty of love to spread around the Hawks lately, and everyone in the Top 5 is on fire at the same time, it seems, so the battle for home-ice advantage in Round 1 has been on for a while and is very serious.

4. Weyburn Red Wings (Last week 4)

The month has been up and down for the Wings, who, as mentioned last week, have as gruelling a February schedule as anybody in the league. That said, they put a lot of fears to rest last weekend, with a resounding pair of wins over the Kindersley Klippers in which Josh Sale continued his personal theme of tearing the league apart. More than anything, this team needs to know which Joey Rocha will show up on a given night in net, as some nights he’s elite, and some nights less so. As was written in the Nipawin section, the battle for those Round 1 home-ice places is wild. The Top 5 teams in the league have all clinched their playoff spots.

5. Battlefords North Stars (Last week 3)

The Battlefords North Stars are clearly the team of the decade in the Nutrien Division, as they have already clinched their third division title in four years. Still, the goal is bigger than that, and though Connor Logan’s men fell to a desperate Estevan team on Sunday, they’ve still won four of five with a big pair against young Humboldt coming up. The Stars have already eclipsed last year’s full-season total by six points, and have a date with the Broncos in Friday’s SaskTel Game of the Month.

6. Melfort Mustangs (Last week 6)

Not taking anything away from the Mustangs in February; they have been wonderful and are full value for their league-high eight-game win streak. But until now, the schedule has been very friendly, and the end of the month is much less so. Still, Bo Eisner has been a man against boys on the back end, winning his back-to-back Defenceman of the Week honours, and Dru Mushumanski, a tantalizing talent known very well in the prairies, has really woken up. Their next three – against Weyburn, and a pair against Flin Flon – should be a blast for the neutral.

7. Estevan Bruins (Last week 8)

Sunday’s win in Battlefords, coinciding with another dominant night from Ewan Rennie, was much-needed, as the Bruins have a 3-1-1 record over their last five, and look to have steadied the ship. Estevan spent most of February on the road, but will end the month with a huge one at Affinity Place against a Melville team two points behind them with three games in hand. The fact that Rennie is far less hurt than he appeared after that game against Flin Flon a couple of weeks ago is massive, first for the player, second for the Bruins, and third for the league as a whole, as he is clearly one of the SJHL’s best (if not the best).

8. Melville Millionaires (Last week 7)

The Mils were perhaps unlucky not to get the full two points from Saturday in Flin Flon, where they played a heck of a game, and dominated the Bombers in the third period, unlike any team has in the league. A series of unfortunate events conspired against them in overtime, but with more games in hand than anybody in the league, and the buy-in to Doug Johnson’s way more and more apparent every week, this team looks to be no fun for anyone to face moving forward. Kale Margolis and crew need to take care of business this week against La Ronge at home, but know they can’t look past the young, scrappy Wolves.

9. Humboldt Broncos (Last week 9)

The fact that the youthful Broncos are still in the playoff hunt, given the brutality of their February schedule, is impressive in itself. If they can get something from the weekend ahead against their big rival, the Battlefords North Stars, then it’s all to play for to sneak into the dance. Still, they got outscored 10-3 combined this past weekend to hot teams in Yorkton and Nipawin, and the challenge is high, but March’s slate of games is very reasonable.

10. Kindersley Klippers (Last week 10)

As dark as the night has been at times for the Klippers this year, their road ahead is not too heavy, either in terms of opposition or busyness. They have shown resilience and will need more in the midst of a tough four-game skid, so it’s all up to them to take care of business the rest of the way. They are only one point back of the playoff line, but have the fewest games left of any team in the league. All hands on deck!

11. Warman Wolverines (Last week 11)

Sure, it’s been a tough year, but the community has been terrific, the ownership has shown its support, and they already have more wins than Notre Dame did last year! Growth! A win over Estevan Saturday gave the locals something to cheer for, and it seems only a matter of time before their elite captain Vinny Palmarin gets his USports commitment. Those around Pherson Loehndorf always knew he was a good player, but he’s still one of the biggest breakout of the year candidates in the league with his monster campaign in all three zones.

12. La Ronge Ice Wolves (Last week 12)

The biggest news in La Ronge this past week was that Kevin Kaminski, their head coach/GM, decided to step back for personal reasons, and it’s still unclear who will carry the load for the rest of the campaign. Four of their final five games of the season are at home, and it certainly looks like they’ll have the first picks in the next SJHL Draft!
