The Nipawin Hawks ended Flin Flon’s winning streak at four games, bouncing back from Friday’s loss in Flin Flon with a 6-4 win over the visiting Bombers on Saturday.

Jake Tremblay (2g-1a) Carson Erhardt (1g-2a) and Michael Makarenko (1g-2a) all had three point nights to lead the Hawks (24-18-3-0).  Brodie Girod and Bronson Adams also scored, and Dalton Dosch made 29/33 saves.

Nipawin is 6-1-1 in their last 8 games, and their win moved them into a fifth place tie with La Ronge in the overall standings, just one point back of Melfort for fourth, and a home ice spot in the quarterfinals.

Cole Rafuse had a pair of goals for the Bombers (27-10-5-0), who suffered their first loss in the month of January.  Tristan Lemyre and Matt Flodell had the other goals.

Estevan and Humboldt gained a little more separation from the non-playoff teams, as both picked up points when Estevan beat Humboldt 6-5 in overtime on Saturday night.

The Bruins (21-18-3-1) now have a seven point lead over Kindersley, with a goal in hand, and they’re just one point back of Humboldt for seventh.

17-year-old rookie Cody Davis led the Bruins with two goals Saturday, while Tanner Manz (1g-1a) potted the overtime winner.  Kersey Reich (1g-1a), Dain Sardelli (1g-1a) and Jayden Davis also scored and Keenan Rancier (32/37) picked up the win.

Logan Foster (1g-1a) scored his 25th goal of the season for the Broncos (20-18-5-2), while Reid Arnold (1g-1a), Logan Kurki (1g-1a) and Spencer McHardy rounded out the scoring.
