Humboldt captain Doug Scott scored his first goal of the season 59 seconds into overtime and the Broncos edged the Yorkton Terriers 5-4 (OT) on Tuesday night.

Yorkton’s Steven Norum was the story in regulation, as the second year forward scored once in every period to rack up a hat trick.  Jackson Berezowski also scored for the Terriers (0-1-1-0) while Jacob Herman made 28/33 saves.

Logan Kurki had a goal and an assist for the Broncos (2-0-0-0), with Chase Nameth, Cody Hough and Luke Spadafora adding the other goals.  Dean McNabb picked up the win in goal, stopping 24 of the 28 shots he faced.

The Melfort Mustangs also improved to 2-and-0 on the season after a 7-3 win in Flin Flon.  Vaclav Prospal and rookie Coletyn Boyarski (in his first SJHL game) each had two goals and an assist to lead the charge.  Ben Tkachuk (1g-1a), Tye Scherger and Marco Lopez rounded out the Mustangs’ offense, and Steven Bacovsky made 39/42 saves in his first action this season.

Zach Huber scored twice to lead the Bombers (0-2-0-0), while Matt Raymond also found the back of the net.
