WEATHER HAMPERS SATURDAY SKED

Four of the six scheduled SJHL games on Saturday were postponed due to heavy snow across the province, with Melville @ Estevan and Notre Dame @ Weyburn the only two contests to hit the ice.

In his first SJHL regular season game, rookie Truett Olson scored 47 seconds into overtime, and finished with a goal and an assist as the Notre Dame Hounds opened their season with a 5-4 (OT) win in Weburn.

Ethan Stuckless and  Jake Dale also had a goal and assist while Connor Nolan and Zach Trempner rounded out the scoring, and Raythan Robbins made 33/37 saves.

Jackson Hassman (1g-1a), Braden Birnie, Liam Antoniuk and Dante Ballarin did the scoring for the Red Wings.

Jaydon Dureau scored twice added an assist, and Chase Bertholet chipped in three helpers as the Melville Millionaires doubled up the Estevan Bruins 6-3 on the road, as the two teams split their opening weekend home and home.

Luke Nkwama also scored twice, with Zach McIntyre and Jonathan Krahn adding the others.  Bryan Thomson earned the win making 41/44 saves in his first start with the Millionaires.

Eddie Gallagher scored twice for Estevan while Mason Strutt also found the net.
