We are nearing the end of our look around the SJHL during the holidays with our 12 Days of Christmas (break) and today (Dec 28th) we focus on the Melfort Mustangs.
Despite a battle with the injury bug this season, the Mustangs are near the top of the SJHL standings with a 23-9-2-0 record on the year and sit alone in 2nd place.
Before the holiday trade freeze Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins made a big move by acquiring Yorkton Terriers Captain Clay Sleeva and he has fit in like a glove on the number one line with Zac Somers.
The Mustangs are also one of just two teams in the entire SJHL to hand the 1st place Flin Flon Bombers a loss.
Melfort will return from the holiday break on Friday, January 5th when they visit the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
