REGINA, SK – The deal that sparked a seismic shift in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) at the last trade deadline has concluded.
On Jan. 10, 2026, the Humboldt Broncos agreed to send their No. 1 goaltender, Charlie Tritt, and impact veterans Ryder Knutson and Connor Miller to the Flin Flon Bombers in exchange for ‘future considerations’.
Those ‘futures’ were announced today (Oct. 2, 2026), as the Flin Flon Bombers have agreed to send elite forwards Jack Martin, Leo Seitz, and Ryan Ulmer to Humboldt to complete that deal.
As part of the deal, Miller returned to the Broncos in the off-season and is now the club’s captain, earning SJHL UPL Playoff MVP honours after posting 15 points in 15 games en route to helping the Bombers win their first title since 1993.
Martin led Flin Flon in returning points this season, after his 42 points in the regular season a year ago ranked third on the club. At the same time, Seitz, 19, and Ulmer, 18, were also both critical parts of the Bombers squad that represented the SJHL at last year’s Centennial Cup in Prince Edward Island.
It is hard to fathom a more equal deal.
Tritt was the SJHL’s SaskTel Goaltender of the Year last season, and Knutson provided much-needed stability, leadership, and physicality to Flin Flon’s championship team. At the same time, Humboldt gets two top 20-year-olds in Miller and Martin, and two dynamic men who are expected to impact the team greatly this year and could do so next in Seitz and Ulmer.
It is to be determined when the three newcomers will appear in a Humboldt jersey.
