PLAYERS OF THE MONTH (Sept/Oct)

RBC PLAYER OF THE MONTH:  Zach Goberis, Estevan Bruins
1997 F Zach Goberis (Arvada CO) led all players with 17-goals and 13-assists and 16-games played.  Goberis scored goals in seven of the first eight games of the year.  He also had hat tricks against La Ronge on September 26th and also October 15th versus Flin Flon.  He was held off the scoresheet only three times in the 16 games.  Runner-up:  Layne Young, Battlefords.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH:  Josh McDougall, Nipawin Hawks
1998 D Josh McDougall (Prince Albert SK) paced all blueliners from mid-September until the end of October with 4-goals and 15-assists in 15-games played.  Included as a highlight was a six game stretch in which McDougall fired 1-goal and 13-assists from September 22-October 7.  He also had, at one point, an eight game point scoring streak.  Runner-up:  Loch Morrison, Melfort.

SASKTEL GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH:  Carter Phair, Weyburn Red Wings
1998 G Carter Phair (Carnduff SK) won five straight starts on his way to a 5-1-and-1 stretch from the beginning of the season until the end of October.  Phair went three straight games in which he allowed one goal in each game, including a 50-save performance on October 21st against Nipawin.  He allowed three goals or less in each start until giving up four in his last appearance on the 28th of October.  Runner up:  Evan Plotnik, Melfort.

MYSASK 411 ROOKIE OF THE MONTH:  Chrystopher Collin, Flin Flon Bombers
1999 F Chrystopher Collin (Bois de Filion PQ) led all rookie scorers from the start of the season until the end of October by scoring 12-goals and 6-assists in 17-games played.  He got his SJHL careeer off to a rip roaring start by picking up 6-goals in his first 3-games played.  He also ended the month with goals in three of his last four.  Runner-up:  Cade Kowalski, Weyburn.
