REGINA, SK – The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) is proud to recognize that Flin Flon Bombers’ head coach and general manager Mike Reagan has surpassed 1,000 games in that role for the club.

The longest-tenured coach in the SJHL, Reagan is in his 19th season behind the Bombers’ bench. From when he took over in the 2007-2008 season to the start of this 2025-26 season, the Bombers have posted a record of 563-327-82.

He reached the 1,000-game mark in a Dec. 13 6-3 Flin Flon victory over the Battlefords North Stars.

“What comes to mind is that I am getting old,” Reagan says with a laugh.

“It makes me proud to be from Flin Flon, and of course, my heart is with the Bombers, and I believe in the organization and the community. We’ve had some ups and downs…I could tell a lot of stories and thank a lot of people. I want to thank so many people who believed in me at 27-28 years old (and since then) to give me that opportunity, and it’s been fun, but it’s also a kind of scary number.”

They won five division titles and have appeared in the SJHL final five times, three out of the previous four seasons.

During the 2023-2024 season, the Bombers posted their best regular-season record since the 2000-2001 season, with 44 wins. At the conclusion of the season, Mike was named the SJHL & CJHL Coach of the Year.

“Congratulations to Mike Reagan on reaching this historical SJHL milestone,” said SJHL Commissioner Kyle McIntyre.

“Mike is truly a Bomber for life. Growing up as a fan, then becoming a player, and then becoming a coach with over 1,000 games is a legendary feat. Following in the footsteps of Mel Pearson and Paddy Ginnell, Mike is truly a Bomber icon.”

Last season, Mike was named the Head Coach for Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in Camrose, Alberta. Team Canada West defeated Team Canada East 5-2 in the Bronze Medal game. This was Reagan’s fourth appearance with Team Canada West after winning two gold medals in 2015 and 2017.

In the last ten seasons, Mike has helped advance more than twenty players to the NCAA Division I ranks, including Donavan Villeneuve-Houle, who is currently playing for the San Jose Sharks’ AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda.

Flin Flon currently sits nine points ahead atop the SJHL standings.
