Bombers win first SJHL title in 33 years

YORKTON, SK – Almost 33 years, four final losses, and a truckload of heartbreak later, the Flin Flon Bombers and their faithful finally have a championship.

The 2026 Canterra Seeds Cup belongs to the Bomber Nation.

By virtue of winning Game 4 2-0 over the Yorkton Terriers Thursday, the Flin Flon Bombers have won their first Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League championship since 1993.

Daniel Morozov broke open a cagey Game 4, scoring at 2:38 of the third period on a seeing-eye, screened shot from the top of the circle to the left of Yorkton goaltender Alexandro Montoya.

He then hammered home a gorgeous, cross-seam feed from Reid Arberry past a helpless Montoya at the 9:44 mark of the final frame to double the advantage.

The Bombers’ air-tight defence, in front of SaskTel SJHL Goaltender of the Year Charlie Tritt, took care of the rest.

Flin Flon gave up just six goals to the Terriers, the league’s No. 1 offence in the regular season, in the four-game final, and shut them out twice (in Games 2 and 4).

With six points in the four final games and 15 points over the postseason, Connor Miller was named the 2026 UPL Playoff Most Valuable Player after the game.
