REGINA, SK – The Humboldt Broncos are the final team to book their spot in Round 2.
Boris Kofman notched the game-winner on a Humboldt 5-on-3 6:13 into the third period, and Ben Motew was brilliant in stopping all 30 shots he faced as the Broncos downed the Weyburn Red Wings 3-0.
Spencer Bell also scored in the second of the two Humboldt power plays mid-way through the final frame, while Maddox Amaral tallied into the empty net for his third goal in as many games.
It was the lone Game 7, Round 1 of this year’s Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League playoffs, and completes the semi-final picture.
