Directwest Commitment: Bruins’ Pouliot commits to Lakehead (USports)

Estevan, SK (March 7, 2022) – The Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) are thrilled to announce forward Olivier Pouliot has committed to attend and play for Lakehead University.

Pouliot (01), finished with 65 points (22g, 43a) in 56 games. Pouliot finished second in team scoring for the Bruins and is currently 5th in SJHL goal scoring.

“Olivier will be a very good player at the university level. He is an elite skater who has excellent hands.  He can score goals, but he can also create offense as a playmaker. He has been a very exciting player to watch for our fans. Pouliot was important piece for us that helped us finish first overall in the regular season,” said Bruins Head Coach & GM, Jason Tatarnic. The 5-foot-, 165lb forward from Rimouski, QC, played for the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL before joining the Estevan Bruins this season.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves are located in Thunder Bay, ON, and compete in the West Division of the OUA under Head Coach Andrew Wilkins.
