Duguay winner sends Mustangs to final

MELFORT, SK – For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the Melfort Mustangs are heading to the SJHL Final.

Ryan Duguay finished off a well-worked power-play move with the winner 2:55 into overtime, and the Mustangs took down the Humboldt Broncos 5-4 in Game 7 at the Northern Lights Palace Tuesday.

It was the fourth contest that went to extra time in the wild Round 2 series.

A raucous 2,100 fans packed the rink in Melfort, and were treated to another classic in a series of epic showdowns.

The Mustangs will now take on the Flin Flon Bombers in the 2024 Canterra Seeds Cup Final, starting Friday night at the Whitney Forum in Flin Flon..
